The Comoros national team have defied expectation in recent years and have risen to as high as 117^th in the world as recently as April 2024, which is a massive jump considering they were 207^th in December 2006. They remain unbeaten after three matches of this CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign after pulling off a shock 1-0 defeat of Tunisia in Tunis the other day. Tunisia have been underperforming ever since the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the north Africans generally lack a convincing cutting edge.
