MATCH PREDICTION
Former Young Boys boss Gerardo Seoane remains in charge of Borussia Monchengladbach for the 2024/25 season, despite a disappointing bottom-half finish last season. The former Bayer Leverkusen manager is known for playing a very attacking and aggressive style of football and that is expected to once again be the case after Gladbach began with a 3-1 defeat of Erzgebirge Aue in the first round of the DFB-Pokal last weekend. Bayer Leverkusen were arguably the biggest and best story anywhere in European football with Xabi Alonso’s side going unbeaten domestically as they won both the Bundesliga and the cup. That unbeaten record was kept intact last weekend as they defeated Stuttgart on penalties in the DFL-Supercup after yet another late equaliser. Leverkusen have lost just one game since the start of last season and they should be able to exploit the space that will be afforded to them on the opening day so an entertaining and high-scoring away win seems a good bet for this one.
