Mauritania have been improving in recent years and did recently qualify for a CAF Africa Cup of Nations. However, the west Africans find themselves bottom of Group C in qualification for the 2025 tournament after three matches. The other day, in the reverse fixture between these two in Cairo, the Egyptians defeated Mauritania by two goals to nil thanks to strikes from Trezeguet and Mohamed Salah. The seven-time African champions have won all three of their qualifiers without conceding a single goal and another Egypt win is to be expected for this one.
