In the reverse fixture between these two sides at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San-Pedro the other day, the Côte d’Ivoire hammered Sierra Leone by four goals to one. The Ivorians, who are defending African champions, have now enjoyed three successive victories to kick off their 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. Sierra Leone have been very disappointing with that defeat being preceded by a loss to Zambia and a goalless draw with Chad.
