MATCH PREDICTION
This is a real clash and contrast in styles and general mood. Spain have been the best and most convincing team at the tournament so far in their five matches but question marks over the actual quality of their personnel, rather than their performances, have remained throughout – and now La Roja are having to deal with major suspension issues in defence that could result in 38-year-old Jesus Navas starting at right-back up against Kylian Mbappe, albeit the France captain is nowhere near his best. France have stumbled through to this stage without ever playing well and having scored just three goals with two own goals and a penalty thus far. Les Bleus, though, are Europe’s ultimate ‘tournament team’ nowadays and will see all of this as just part of the process. With that said, and the weaknesses in the Spanish defence, a low-scoring French victory would seem a good value bet.
